Evelyn Short

Evelyn Lucille (Caton) Short, age 87 of Mentor, died Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at home surrounded by her family. She was born December 24, 1930 in Frostburg, MD.

Survivors include her children: Mary (Leon) Brode, John (Kathy) Short, Katherine (Jim) Llewellyn, Bonnie (Tim) Morick, Nancy (Dennis) Gorman, James Short and Joseph (Michele) Short, 18 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren. 3 great-great-grandchildren, sisters: Emma (Dave) Thorn and Nancy Wilhelm.

Preceding Evelyn in death are her husband: John L. Short, parents: Clifford and Verna Caton, siblings: Sylvia Hunter, Mary Ann Schartiger, Virgil “Buzz’, James “Jum”, Clifford “Junie” and Thomas Caton.

The family will receive friends from 3-6 p.m. Saturday, October 20, 2018, at the Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home & Cremation Center 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor, OH 44060.

The family will receive friends from 3-5 p.m. Monday, October 22, 2018, at Mount Zion United Methodist Church, 16864 National Pike, Frostburg, MD 21532

Funeral service will be held 5 p.m. Monday, October 22, 2018 at the church.

Interment will be in Finzel Cemetery, Frostburg, MD.
