Ellen Gertrude Vinci, 92, of Waterstation Run Road, passed away on Friday, February 28, 2020 at UPMC Western Maryland, Cumberland. Born on March 5, 1927 in Cumberland she was the daughter of the late Connell Whiteman and Mae (Broadwater) Whiteman.
She was preceded in death by her husband Rev. Charles E. Vinci, a son John Robert Clark, her siblings Elizabeth “Betty” Vinci and Wilmer Whiteman and a niece Misty Dawn Vinci Stullenbarger.
Ellen was a member of the Bethel Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was a 1945 graduate of Central High School. She liked sewing, camping and cooking; but most of all she enjoyed time spent with family. She was part of the founding members of the First Assembly of God Church, Lonaconing, both she and her late husband.
She is survived by her son, James Vinci (Nancy) of Lonaconing; grandchildren Nikol Stowell (Eric), Cherie Blubaugh (Clay), Cinda Nolan (Mark), Danny Clark and Robert Clark (Summer); 16 great-grandchildren, Aeden, Dalten, Ceanna, Michael, Tiffany, Jordan, Joshua, Kristina, Megan, Ryan, Brianna, Andrew, Caitlin, Dakota, Cameron and Tristan and 12 great-great-grandchildren, Jacob, Jodyn, Emma, Leah, Ella, Ben, Luke, Rhyan, Willow, Lydia, Orion and Brendon and several nieces and nephews including a special niece Betty “Lou” Lambert.
Friends will be received at the Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A. in Lonaconing on Monday, March 2, 2020 from 5 to 8 p.m. Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 3, 2020, at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Charles Winebrenner and the Rev. David Schoch officiating. Internment will be held at Green Cemetery, Garrett County.
