Eleanor Miller Valentine, 91, formerly of Lonaconing died July 21, 2013 at Gilchrist Hospice Care, Towson. Born on March 12, 1922 in Lonaconing she was the daughter of the late Christopher C. Miller and Bessie (Garlitz) Miller.
She was proceeded in death by her husband Clarence "Val" E. Valentine on August 30, 2010; two sisters, Adeline Conlon and Glen Vanhorn and two brothers, Aden Thomas Miller and Earl C. Miller.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Lonaconing. Eleanor was a graduate of Central High School and Frostburg State in 1943. She became a teacher and taught in Germany after WWII. She retired from her teaching career in the Baltimore County and Baltimore City School Systems. She enjoyed spending the winter months in Lake Como, FL.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Lisa Valentine of Phoenix, MD and two grandchildren, Bailey and Morgan Sager also of Phoenix, MD.
Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 from 6 - 8 PM at the Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at 2:00 PM with Father Ed Hendricks officiating. Interment will be held at Frostburg Memorial Park.
