Edna Katherine Warnick, 76, of Moscow died Monday, October 24, 2022 at Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser, WV. Born on September 19, 1946 in Keyser, WV she was the daughter of the late Anna (O’Haver) Colmer.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ellis Lee Warnick Sr. in 2004 and a sister, Carolyn Dolly.
Edna had attended the Bethel Holiness Church, Lonaconing, prior to her health declining. She was affectionately known to many as YaYa, a name she was given by her Uncle “Nutcoal” while growing up in Pekin. She was primarily a homemaker, but in her younger years she had worked periodically out of the home at the Grantsville Shirt Factory and for the Allegany County School Board custodial department. Edna devoted her life to raising her kids and later watching her grandkids. It just didn’t seem right unless she had a baby on her lap. Some even referred to her as the Baby Whisperer. A name that was so fitting for a woman who obviously knew how to take care of children.
She is survived by her six children which were her pride and joy no matter their age, Mandy Keller (John) of Barton, Ellis Warnick (Julie) of Blairsville, PA, Kim Martin (Marvin) of Moscow, Troxell Warnick (April) of Moscow, Adam Warnick (Jessica Muessen) of Eckhart and Holli Warnick (Nick Clark) of Moscow; her grandchildren, Miranda Largent (Jeffery), John Keller (Sarah), Amber Broadwater (Derek), Crystal Wildesen (Richie), Dilan Warnick, Keith Warnick, Andrew Barris, Brandi Eakin (Rob), Jesse Wilhelm, Katie Morris (Jeffery), Bailie Warnick, Nathaniel Warnick, Zach Broadwater (Samantha), Maddy Manges, Lucy Warnick, Caleb Brown, Tanner Fairgrieve and Mason Clark and numerous great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Wilda Welch and Lorraine Smith; a brother, Walter Neat; a special cousin, Terri Michaels and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received on Friday, October 28, 2022 from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Charles Winebrenner officiating. Interment will be held at Laurel Hill Cemetery, Moscow Mills.
Pallbearers will be John Keller, Caleb Brown, Tanner Fairgrieve, Nathaniel Warnick, Mason Clark, Andrew Barris, Mike O’Haver and Bobby Broadwater.
