Dorothy Lee Blank, 87, of the Frostburg Nursing and Rehab Center, died Sunday October 24, 2010 at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center, Cumberland. Born March 20, 1923 in Lonaconing she was the daughter of the late Thomas Francis Nicol and Mamie Rosetta (Grove) Nicol.
She was preceded in death by six sisters and four brothers. She was the last of her immediate family.
Dorothy was a homemaker and retired from Frostburg State College where she worked as a housekeeper. She was an avid bingo player and also loved camping. She enjoyed completing crossword puzzles and reading biographies.
She is survived by her children, Susan Porter of Palm Harbor, FL, Donna Blank of Cumberland, Jacqueline Kerr and husband Tom of Frostburg, Michael Blank and wife Diane of Waynesboro, PA and Kimberly Harper of Frostburg; twelve grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Her wishes were to be cremated and Family and Friends will be received at the Eichhorn-McKenzie Funeral Home P.A. (

),Lonaconing on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 from 6-8 PM. A memorial service will directly follow the receiving of family and friends at 8:00 PM with the Rev. Jimmy Blair officiating. Inurnment will be held Frostburg Memorial Park.
