Donald “DJ” E. Walker Jr., 26, of Old Beechwood Road, Lonaconing died Tuesday, June 2, 2020 as a result of a tragic accident at work. Born July 3, 1993 he was the son of Donald “Ernie” Walker Sr. and Jennifer (Bishop) Spiker.
He was preceded in death by a sister Jennifer Amanda Walker, paternal grandparents James and Dorothy Walker and an aunt Margaret Burracker.
A 2011 graduate of Westmar high school; he worked as a foreman for Asplundh Tree Co, being one of their top three climbers. DJ was an avid outdoorsman, he loved to hunt and ride ATVs. He had skill in gardening and had aspirations of one day taking over the family farm. A member of the Dogwood Flat Hunting and Fishing Club, Barton, he was the captain of the horseshoe team. He was the best daddy to his two children, an exceptional friend to many and an all-around good, hardworking young man.
He leaves behind his fiancé Jesse R. Wilhelm and their two very loved children Memphis John and Emery Ann Walker; three brothers Rodney S. Ziler, Keith Levi Taylor and Tiffany and Andrew S. Walker; his uncle James Walker and wife Mary and aunt Darla Steele and husband Melvin; nieces Sterling Eakin and Dalilah Ziler; step-father Dave Spiker; grandparents Buzz and JoAnn Spiker; soon be Father and Mother-in-law Marvin and Kimberly Martin and Glen and Christie Wilhelm; brothers and sisters-in-law Rob and Brandi Eakin and Jeffery and Katie Morris and Leighanna Wilhelm and too many friends to list, as he never met a stranger.
Family and friends will be received on Sunday, June 7, 2020 from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, June 8, 2020 at 1:00 PM with Deacon Harold Bradley officiating with speaker Melvin Steele. Interment will be held at Mountain View Cemetery, Moscow Mills.
Pallbearers will be John Keller Jr., Derek Broadwater, Jamie Villa, Eric Banner, Nate Spiker, Jeremy Fazenbaker and honorary pallbearers Keith Taylor and Derek Buskirk.
Due to the restrictions of the Covid-19 virus, all attendees are asked to wear a mask and practice social distancing.
