Charles "Sonny" Broadwater

Charles “Sonny” F. Broadwater, 63, of Port Richey, FL formerly of Barton died at his residence on Monday, March 19, 2012. Born on April 29, 1948 in Keyser, WV he was the son of the late Harry Broadwater and Norma (Michaels) Broadwater.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Broadwater on May 15, 2011.

He had served in the U.S. National Guard, Oakland, MD. A graduate of Valley High School class of 1966, he worked as a mechanic for Wal-Mart in Hudson, FL. Sonny was an avid Harley Davidson rider and cherished the time he spent with family and friends. He was Baptist by faith and enjoyed attending church and connecting with people.

He is survived by his four children, Christopher Broadwater and wife Connie of Perry, FL, Jamie Horwath of Kalamazoo, MI, Rhonda Alkire and Jeff Appel of Barton, MD, Derek Broadwater and wife Amber of Lonaconing, MD; seven grandchildren, Christopher “Allen” Broadwater, Kaitlyn Horwath, Nathan Horwath, Mason Alkire, Rilee Alkire, Madison Broadwater and Brycen Broadwater; one brother, Gary Broadwater and wife Cathy of Barton and their two children.

A memorial service will be held at the Berea Baptist Church in Palm Harbor, FL on March 29, 2012 at 11:30 AM. Receiving of family and friends will be held at Eichhorn-McKenzie Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing on Sunday, April 1, 2012 from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM.  A memorial service will follow at 3:00 PM with Rev.
