Charles “Charlie” T. Lamberson, 70, of Rockville Street, Lonaconing died Thursday, July 6, 2017 at Egle Nursing and Rehab Center, Lonaconing. Born on June 26, 1947 in Frostburg he was the son of the late Charles R. Lamberson and Hannah I. (Wilson) Lamberson.
Charlie was a 1965 graduate of Valley High School and retired from Westvaco in the unloading department after 34 years of service. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Lonaconing. He was also a 40 year member of the Good Will Volunteer Fire Department #1Lonaconing, devoting most of his life to the company and his community. His grandchildren kept him going and he dearly loved them. Charlie enjoyed baseball and was a huge fan of the Chicago Cubs.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years Barbara Lamberson; two children Betsy Evans and husband James “Bo” of Klondike and Shane Lamberson and wife Janell of Lonaconing; five grandchildren Lance and Riley Evans and Bayleigh, Rhegan and Taylor Lamberson; a sister Linda Brandenburg of Hagerstown and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received on Sunday, July 9, 2017 from Noon-2:00PM at the Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing. A memorial service will be held at 1:00PM by the Good Will Volunteer Fire Company. A funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00PM with Deacon Harold Bradley officiating. Interment will be held at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Charlie’s memory to Good Will Volunteer Fire Department #1 at 6 Douglas Avenue, Lonaconing, MD 21539.
The family would like to thank the Egle Nursing and Rehab Center staff for the great care provided to Charlie.
