Charles Robert DeVault, 92, of Midland, died Thursday, March 6, 2025 at Mountain City Rehab Center, Frostburg. Born on October 23, 1932 in Midland, he was the son of the late Charles William DeVault and Ida Mae (Beeman) DeVault.
He was preceded in death by his wife Alice Jean DeVault on July 1, 2020, two brothers, John and Daniel DeVault and a nephew, Joshua DeVault. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Charles was a 50-year member of the George’s Creek Valley Lodge #161 A.F and A.M. where he was Past Master. He was also a member of Martha Washington Chapter #10 Order of the Eastern Star where he was Past Patron and the Ali Ghan Shrine and Scottish Rite.
He was a graduate of Central High School and a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion formerly Chapter #155, Westernport. He was Methodist by faith and longtime member of the Grace United Methodist Church, Midland.
He is survived by four children, Robert Charles DeVault, Stephen Daniel DeVault, Joseph Lee DeVault and girlfriend Julie and Patricia Jean Long and husband Steven; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
At his request he will be cremated and inurned at Frostburg Memorial Park.
Charles is in the care of Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., Midland.
