Caryl M. Eichhorn, 83, of Lonaconing passed away peacefully on February 17, 2013 at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center. Born in Lonaconing on April 23, 1929, one of five girls, she was the daughter of the late Ezra H. and Daisy M. (Luzier) Kitzmiller.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, George A. Eichhorn and two sisters, Margie Duckworth and husband Price and Nola Barclay and husband Alex, also two nephews, Richard P. Reeves and Kevin H. Matthews.
Caryl graduated from Central High School, Lonaconing and devoted her life as a loving wife, homemaker, sister and special aunt to her nieces and nephews.
She is survived by two sisters, Norma Matthews and husband Hugh of Lonaconing and Jean Riley and husband Ed of Westernport; one sister-in-law, Anna Louise Duckworth of Luke along with numerous nieces and nephews, John Duckworth of Hagerstown, Diane Bean of Virginia, Alexa Carter of Midland, Marsha Blair of North Carolina, Randall Matthews of Lonaconing, Bruce Duckworth of LaVale, Denis Barclay of Grantsville, Jill Gentry of Virginia, Joy Warren of Germantown and Jon Riley of Keyser.
As her health declined she spent the last 6 years as a resident of Frostburg Village Assisted Living.
Caryl enjoyed occasionally taking day trips through the areas country side along with her sisters, Nola and Norma, and nephew Randy who willingly gave his time to help and assist her throughout her failing health.
At Caryl's request there will be no visitation or service. Interment will take place at Frostburg Memorial Park. Eichhorn-McKenzie Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing (www.eichhornmckenzie.com) handled the arrangements.
