Carl Edward Buskirk, Sr., 71, of Water Station Run Road, Lonaconing died Monday, March 14, 2016 at Western Maryland Regional Medical Center, Cumberland. Born on May 18, 1944 in Lonaconing he was the son of the late James Dewey Buskirk and Rose (Elkins) Buskirk.
He was preceded in death by two siblings, Mary Jones and Dewey James Buskirk and a great-grandson, Brayden.
Carl was a 1962 graduate of Valley High School and a heavy equipment operator with International Union of Operating Engineers-Local 37. He was a lifetime member of the Midland Sportsmans Club. He was also a member of Kennells Mill Sportsmans Club, Hyndman, PA , Democrat Club, Cumberland and the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Frostburg.
He is survived by his four children, Rhonda Smith and husband Bob of Lonaconing, Alicia Buskirk of Emmitsburg, Carl Buskirk, Jr. and wife Tera of Mooresville, NC and Michael Buskirk and Tiffany of Frostburg; step-daughter, Erin Kenney of Martinsburg, WV; eight grandchildren, Mandy Smith and friend Robbie, Bobby Smith and fiancé Ashley, Beth Birckhead, Christina Birckhead, Tristen Buskirk, Justen Buskirk, Devon Alger and Hunter Alger; two great-grandson, Brady and Gavin and one on the way, Kalen; two sisters, Marguerite Wales of Pasadena, MD and Ruth Spiker of Cumberland; companion, Katie; special friends, John and Julie Houston and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received at the Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing on Friday, March 18, 2016 from 7-9PM and Saturday, March 19, 2016 from 1-2PM. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 2:00PM with Rev. George Loar officiating.
