Calvin Shockey

Calvin Leslie Shockey, 87, of Jackson Run Road, Lonaconing died Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at Devlin Manor. Born on December 15, 1932 in Lonaconing he was the son of the late James Edward Shockey and Ellen Adeline (Fazenbaker) Shockey.

He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Mae (Sturtz) Shockey on July 22, 2011, a stepdaughter Janet Ferree and three siblings James E. Shockey, Leroy Shockey and Evelyn Poland.

Calvin was Pentecostal by faith. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and retired from Westvaco. In his spare time he enjoyed crossword puzzles, gardening and playing the lottery. He was a member of the Lonaconing Republican Club.

He is survived by a stepson John Ferree; numerous grandchildren and nieces and nephews; a sister Donna Smith and husband Jake; two brothers Gary Shockey and wife Darlene and Marvin “Huck” Shockey.

Family and Friends will be received at the Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing on Friday, February 7, 2020 from 4PM – 6PM. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home immediately following at 6:00 PM with the Pastor Shawn Shumaker officiating. Interment will be held at Mt. View Cemetery, Moscow Mills.
