Bruce Edward Robertson, 60, of Watercliff Street, Lonaconing died Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at Western Maryland Regional Medical Center, Cumberland. Born on January 30, 1956 in Lonaconing he was the son of Vivian Eileen Robertson of Lonaconing and the late Robert Robertson.
Bruce was preceded in death by his father, Robert Robertson.
He was a member and president for the past 10 years of the Lonaconing Republican Club. He worked at Moran Manor, Westernport for 29 years where he worked in maintenance and drove the bus. He enjoyed relaxing at the “River”, the Orioles and “Scratch off Tickets”. The greatest loves of his life were his two spoiled labs, Chevy and Zena. He was thankful to have the love and support of his family, friends and neighbors during his battle with cancer. He greatly appreciated the kindness and generosity of “Team Bruce”. They were always there to support him during his illness.
He is survived by his wife Rhonda (Westfall) Robertson; a brother, Joe Robertson and wife Joann of Lonaconing; three sisters, Marla Kay Schramm and husband John of Lonaconing, Diana Gail Nichols and husband Deomont of Finzel and Lynn Renee Green and husband Kirk of Lonaconing; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Dorie and Rusty Jones of Westernport and numerous nieces and nephews including three special nephews, Cole, Jesse and Max Green.
Family and friends will be received at the Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing on Friday, September 2, 2016 from 5-7PM. A funeral service will immediately follow at 7:00PM with Deacon Harold Bradley officiating.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to assist with funeral expenses c/o Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., 8 East Main Street, Lonaconing, MD 21539.
