Blaine Wilhelm

Blaine Joseph Wilhelm, 76, of Lancaster Hill Road, Lonaconing died surrounded by his family on  Sunday, June 25, 2017 at Western Maryland Regional Medical Center, Cumberland.  Born on June 3, 1941 he was the son of the late Thomas Wilhelm and Hilda (Minnick) Wilhelm.

He was preceded in death by his son Gary Wilhelm, great-grandson Owen Close, two sisters Thelma Weir and Darlene Rounds and a brother John Wilhelm.

He retired as an equipment operator from Barton Mining. He was a loving and hardworking family man and he will be missed.

He is survived by the love of his life Sharon; children Lora and John Skidmore, Steve and Shannon Thomas, Willy and Sherri Thomas, Julie and Donald Moore, Amy and Robby Hawkins, Cheryl Broadwater, Mike and Dolores Wilhelm, Rick Wilhelm, Brenda and Scott Singer, Linda and Kevin McKenzie, Eric Wilhelm and daughter-in-law Kim Wilhelm; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister Ada Layton; brothers Dale and Sandy Wilhelm and Freeman and Carole Wilhelm and numerous nieces and nephews.

At his request he will be cremated and no services will be held. Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing handled the arrangements.
