Betty Lucille Jacobs, 76, of Lonaconing died Sunday, March 20, 2016 at Egle Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Lonaconing. Born on September 20, 1939 in Cumberland she was the daughter of the late James Henry Jones and Marie Bessie (Wilson) Jones.
She was preceded in death by three of her children, Mary Catherine Brewer, Joseph Otey and Robert Jones; a great-grandson, James Nathan Winegar; a sister, Carol Jones and her brother, Robert James Jones. She was also preceded in death by two beloved pets, Buddy and Little Joe.
She retired from Kelly Springfield Tire Company, Fayetteville, NC. She was member of the Lonaconing Republican Club and Midland Sportsman’s Club. She loved to play bingo and cards.
She is survived by two children, Bishop Richard Skinner and wife Ana of Emerald Isle, NC and Rev. Helen Braxton and husband Anthony of Little River, SC; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; four sisters, Helen Kirk of Baltimore, Eleanor Dennison of Baltimore, Evelyn Jones of Glen Burnie and Katherine Mason of Baltimore; numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.
Family and friends will be received at Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing on Monday, March 21, 2016 from 7-8PM. A funeral service will immediately follow at 8:00PM. A graveside service will be held at Laurel Hill Cemetery, Moscow Mills on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at 11:00AM. Family and friends will be received at the funeral home at 10:00AM, one hour prior to the graveside service.
