Betty A. Colmer-Dye 90, of Cresaptown, formerly of Midland, and Potomac Park went to be with the Lord on August 6, 2016 with her loved ones by her side. Born March 8, 1926 in Lonaconing, the daughter of the late John D. and Winona (Koontz) Miller.
Betty was proceeded in death by her first husband, Olen C. Colmer, Son John Richard “Dick” Colmer, Daughter Beverly “Kaye” Colmer Brown, Sister-in-law Elaine Miller, and second husband of twelve years, Herbert M. Dye Sr.
She is survived by two grandchildren, Molly and Iaen Brown of Burlington, VT. Also surviving Betty are step-children: Carol Ann Robertson and husband, Ray, Judy Green and husband, Vernon, Herbert M. Dye Jr. and wife, Mary Jane, and Tammy Barclay and husband, Denny with whom she lived with for the last three years. Brothers: Donald E. Miller, Jack Miller and wife, Mildred. Sister Lois Green and husband, Kenny.
Also surviving Betty are seven step-grandchildren: Trina Benson, husband Carl, Amy Clise, husband Chuck, Christy Kidwell, husband David, Jessica Hamilton, husband Jamie, Abby DeVore, husband Roy, Derek Dye, and Kaitlyn Dye. Step-great grandchildren: Katie and Ben Benson, Charlie and Beth Clise, Landen, Logen, Larissa, and Lexi Hamilton, Grayce and Ryleigh Kidwell. She is also survived by many special nieces and nephews.
Betty was of Methodist faith and attended Midland Methodist Church for many years with her husband, Herby, usually sitting together in the front row.
Betty was kind and loving. She will be missed by her family and friends. We will hold her close in our hearts. Her life was not always easy, and she went through many trials, but remained forever trusting in the Lord.
Family and Friends will be received at Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, 19814 Big Lane, Midland on Tuesday Aug. 9, 2016 from 12-2p. Immediately following Rev. Daniel Montague will conduct the funeral service. Interment will be at Laurel Hill Mountain View Cemetery.
