Bertha Bosley

Bertha Elaine Bosley, 93, of Lonaconing died Friday, April 16, 2021 at UPMC Western Maryland, Cumberland. Born on June 4, 1927 in Lonaconing, she was the daughter of the late Zedeck and Clementine (Brooks) Dye.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Bosley; two sisters, Clemmie Russel and Ruth Klipstien; one brother, Alfred Dye; one son, James Bosley and one grandson, Aaron Bosley.

Bertha was 1945 graduate of Central High School and was a Nurse’s Aide at Sacred Heart Hospital for 17 ½ years.  She was a member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church and served on the Altar Guild for 50 years.

She is survived by one daughter, Cheryl Dorsey and husband Joe; two sons, Alfred Bosley and wife Stacie and Thomas Bosley and wife Melissa; one daughter-in-law, Diane Bosley; one granddaughter, Amanda Dicken and husband Chad; four grandsons, Ben Dorsey and wife Molly, Harry Bosley and fiancé Renee, Josh Bosley and Austin Bosley; two great-granddaughters, Bryleigh Bosley and Braylin Bosely; one great-grandson, Noah Dicken; a special niece, Nellie Tighe and numerous other nieces and nephews and her close friend, her dog Peppy.

Family and Friends will be received at the St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Lonaconing on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM . A funeral service will immediately follow the visitation at 1:00 PM with Father Garrett Carskaton and Father John Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery, Moscow Mills.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Bertha’s neighbors, Bob DeVault and Jeannie Warnick for checking on her throughout her illness.

Due to the restrictions of the Covid-19 Virus, face masks and practicing safe social distancing will be required.
