Anna Gowans

Anna Lee (Boyd) Gowans, 96, of Lonaconing, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at Egle Nursing Home, Lonaconing. Born on March 27, 1927 in Lonaconing she was the daughter of the late Edward Frederick Boyd and Edith Grace (Patton) Boyd.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James P. Gowans on January 27, 2007, her son, James E. Gowans and cousin, Adeline (Robertson) Wolford.

Anna Lee was a graduate of Central High School and a homemaker. She loved to cook and share her recipes with others. A giver at heart, she knitted and crocheted for many. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Lonaconing. She was also a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post #5280, Lonaconing, where she had been past president.

She is survived by her daughters, Sandra Wilt and husband Keith and Lynn Love and husband Jim; five grandchildren, Shelly Love, Travis Love and wife Katie, Casey Love and wife Beth and their son Mac, Noelle Brown and husband Cameron and Sloane Gowans; two great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Jack Gowans and sister-in-law, Jeanette Yates and nieces Margie Yates and Kim Preston.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday, June 15, 2023 from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, June 16, 2023 at 12:00 PM with Rev. Thomas Morgan. Inurnment will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery, Lonaconing at a later date.
