Alice Jean Shockey, 84, of Charlestown Road, Lonaconing went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 27, 2013 at the Egle Nursing Home, Lonaconing. Born on March 10, 1929 in Lonaconing she was the daughter of the late John Richardson and Pearl (DeVault) Richardson.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Gibson Shockey on May 19, 2002; two children Michael Shockey and Roberta Shockey; six siblings Ida Donaldson, William "Guinee" Richardson, Eleanor Lee Richardson, Mary McGregor, Elva Gardner and Ruth Moore and one daughter-in-law, Donna Shockey.
Jean was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Lonaconing where she sang in the choir and was the Evangelist Chair Person. She had worked as the activity aide for the Egle Nursing Home.
She is survived by her children, Robert H. Shockey and wife Fay of Lonaconing, Terry Eugene Shockey of Lonaconing, Randall Lee Shockey and wife Tammy of Lonaconing, Russell Edward Shockey and wife Mary of Wichita, KS, Jean Lynn Clarke and husband Troy of Chicago, IL and John J. Shockey and wife Debbie of Lonaconing; 19 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren and numerous great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Lola "Pat" Price; numerous nieces and nephews and her faithful companion, Teddy.
Family and friends will be received at the Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing on Sunday, December 1, 2013 from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 2, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church, Lonaconing with Rev. Fred Iser officiating . Interment will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery, Lonaconing.
