Alice Jean DeVault, 88, of Midland died July 1, 2020 at her home surrounded by family. Born on September 6, 1931 in Bayard, WV she was the daughter of the late Cecil and Grace (Holbert) Ward.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers; James K. Ward, William Lee Ward and Junior Ward, one sister; Grace Ann Wells; one sister-in-law Ruth Ward and one brother-in-law; Carl Lambert.
Alice was a 1949 graduate of Allegany High School. She worked many years as the head housekeeper at the Braddock Best Western, Lavale. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Midland where she was the choir director for over 40 years. She was also a member of OES Mountain Chapter #15 and Past Matron of OES Martha Washington Chapter #10.
She is survived by her loving husband, Charles Robert DeVault, to whom she was married to for 65 years, three sons; Robert Charles DeVault of Lonaconing, Stephen Daniel DeVault of Springfield, WV and Joseph Lee DeVault of Westernport, one daughter; Patricia Jean Long and husband Steven of Keyser, WV, seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, two brothers; Richard Lee Ward of Gatonsville and Donald Ray Ward and wife Eunice of Cumberland, one sister; Anna Lee Lambert of Lebanon, PA and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was cremated at her request.
Inurnment will be held at Frostburg Memorial Park, Frostburg.
